About my Art
Back in 2013 I studied at Coleg Ceredigion for a Foundation Diploma in Art. It is a course that I thoroughly enjoyed and have learnt a lot from. I found a style of art that I really enjoy which uses the mediums of indian ink, watercolours coffee and other mixed media. I like to prepare a foundation of explosive colour upon which I sketch using an ink dip pen and sometimes a quill. It is a very experimental style and gives me a freedom to draw more fluidly than I had done in the past. I especially enjoy drawing and painting horses or birds. My art work will be available to purchase from the shop as soon as it is available. I'm more sporadic with the art work, so it may not always be featured in the shop, however I'm also open to commissions, some of which you can see in my past commissioned work page.
Before the course, I was an avid festival goer, helping my lovely friend Rossi on her stall, "Dilys Y Ddafad" where we ran knitting workshops. Being a keen Graffiti fan, I developed a liking for Yarn Bombing, which I call Gwlan Bombing/ Storming - Gwlan being the Welsh for Wool. I have completed two Gwlan Bombing tree installations at both Workhouse and Green Gathering festivals in the summer of 2012. Here's a picture of me faffing with a tree at Workhouse festival in Llanfyllin. I haven't been to a festival for a while now and really miss them, so if anyone needs crew at any future events, please get in touch! I hope to have my own pitch at some festivals in future, but who knows!

As well as the above, my other art work consists of sculpture and sign writing/ banner painting. I have a particular fondness for sculpture using found objects and up-cycling unwanted items into art. My previous access course exhibition work consisted of two tree sculptures, which were made from a broken umbrella in a wicker bottle and an old bike frame, both entirely wrapped in fabric. My bike tree sculpture was later used as an installation piece at the Botanical Beats festival in Treborth Botanical Gardens in Bangor, as part of Recycle Cycle Cymru's stall. The bike frame was kindly donated to me by RCC and can be seen occasionally adorning my own stall at craft fairs (table space permitting).
My sign writing and banner painting became a feature at the acclaimed Botanical Beats festival where I was asked to do the line up boards for the various stages at the event, I have also produced stall banners for fellow craft stall holders including Dilys Y Ddafad (DilysTheSheep), Rags To Riches, Dale's pots and Recycle Cycle Cymru. If you would like any form of sign writing, banner painting, black board writing etc to be done by me, please email me a request and I will see what I can do for you.
My future art work will hopefully consist of many more paintings in the style I mastered whilst on my art course, I would love to do more animation or short film too.
